Do You Hear What I Hear?

It's no secret that I love music- I can't seem to pick a genre, and on any given day I can switch from Mahler to Celia Cruz, bounce around some musicals like Chicago and SIX before finishing my day off with Aaliyah and Fujii Kaze. But, as my name implies, I love to make music just as much- mainly classical music on the piano and viola (the latter being a more recent development.) I've also expanded my auditory horizons to making podcasts and working with sound mixing.

Bruch Double Concerto in E Minor for Clarinet and Viola, Op. 88 (2024)

Live recording of my performance of one of my favorite duets for the viola. I had the honor of performing with my orchestra director and mentor Gene Wie, accompanied by Ms. Susan Cheng at the Choate Rosemary Hall 2024 Spring Term Recital.

Leo Ruygrok- Poème, Op.20 (2024)

Recorded at Choate Rosemary Hall with the amazing Ms. Susan Cheng. There are surprisingly few recordings of this piece online- I could only find one other, despite all my efforts!

Beethoven String Quartet No.4, Op.18 No.4 Mvt.1 (2024)

Live recording of the punchy first movement of Beethoven's 4th string quartet with a few of my classmates from Choate Rosemary Hall at the 2024 Spring Term Recital. It was so exciting to play chamber music again!

Frank Bridge-Two Pieces for Viola and Piano, II. Allegro Appassionato (2023)

A recording (without accompaniment) of Bridge's riveting composition. I also played this piece in my first solo recital on the instrument, a video of which can be found here.

Max Bruch- Romance Op. 85 (2023)

A home recording of Bruch's Romanze for the viola I did over the summer. The description of this video details my history with this piece. I also accompany myself on the piano, so you can see me on two instruments!

The Civil War: A Clean Start (2022)

The first and only podcast episode of 'The Jenkinside Scoop' for Mr. Jenkins' 2022-23 U.S. History Class, complete with foley and gratuitous sound effects. Covers some aspects of the post-war cleanup, but due to requirements had to be cut from 11 minutes to under 6, and thus some interesting details had to be removed.

Toby Fox Digital Piano Experimentation

A compilation of a few songs I learned to play by ear from Toby Fox's UNDERTALE and series DELTARUNE. His games were a big influence on my childhood and creative style, and so while I was experimenting with my digital piano, it only felt natural that some of the melodies he created came to my fingertips. (P.S. If you watch to the end, I sing...)
